What’s yours?

AlmsInk is here to help your organization tell its story.

Sherri Alms, writer

If I had to pick one word to define my life, it would be storytelling—the joy I have taken in reading others' stories since I first sounded out words on a page. And the satisfaction of telling my clients' stories and my own.

Your expertise and my creativity and experience make for a beautiful relationship. Even better, our partnership creates informative, relatable, clear, and compelling content for your website, brochures, newsletters, magazines, and more.

You can also turn to me to turn rough drafts, technical talk, and complicated matter into understandable, useful information for your audiences.

My love for storytelling extends beyond the professional to fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. My work has appeared in Rattle, Dorothy Parker's Ashes, Cosmic Daffodil, Does It Have Pockets, Roi Fainéant, Wild Greens Magazine, and Five Minutes.

What I Do

Writing is the best and almost only job I have had. I'm lucky to have long-standing clients who are wonderful partners and a community of creative writers who make me better at my craft.

Since my first association job a few decades ago to this job as a freelancer, I have done a little bit of all kinds of writing, from newsletter and magazine articles to white papers and website content. I have edited books about climate change, archeology, and theology, for example, and taken esoteric research and technical information and turned it into comprehensible prose for consumers who needed the information.

Giving myself the time and space to write creative non-fiction, poetry, and fiction is a dream come true. I can see that the creativity and sweat I put into that work influence my freelance work. The language sparkles a little more. I attend even more carefully to the structure, organization, and storytelling.
